Vocational Course Maharashtra Craftsman Training Scheme
Craftsman Training Scheme was introduce by government of India in 1950
to ensure a steady flow of skill workers in different trades for the
domestic Industries, to raise quantitatively and qualitatively the
Industrial production by systematic training , to reduce unemployment
among the educated youth by providing them employable training , to
cultivate and nurture a technical and industrial attitude in the minds
of younger generation. The scheme, most important in the field of
vocational training , has been shaping Craftsmen to meet the existing as
well as future manpower need , through the vast network of ITIs' in the
state the day-to-day administration of ITIs' under the Craftsman
Training Scheme was transferred to State Government with effect from the
year 1956.
The State Council for Vocational Training is a
counter part of NCVT at State level and it plays the same role, that is
played by NCVT at National level. The SCVT is Chaired by the Secretary
for Higher and Technical Education.
Maharashtra State there was the steady growth of ITIs' from 1960 to
1990 and till the the total No. of ITIs' functioning were 131 and the
intake capacity for training was 41292
In 1995 Government of Maharasthra has taken a policy
decision to establish one ITI at each Taluka. Accordingly from 1995 to
1998 , 181 new ITIs' were introduced, raising the intake capacity of
ITIs' to 64268. During 1999-2000 ,35 more ITIs' have comeup raising the
total intake capacity to 65704
In Continuation to the decision taken by the
Government in 1995 to start one ITI each Taluka Government have taken
deciosion to start 32 Government ITIs in newly created 32 Talukas , in
2006.
Accordingly the present Status of the intake in all ITIs as follows : Proposed ITI in 2009- 10
- ITI Devala Dist Nasik
- ITI, Yerawada , Dist Pune
- ITI, Mumbai 1( ETHS, Mumbai )
- ITI, Mumbai 28 ( ETHS, Dadar )
Fee/Term Fee
Fee: 15/- Rs Per Month
Hostel Fees : 20/- Rs Per Month
Hostel Deposit : 25/- Rs
Security Deposit : 50/- Rs.
50% of student admitted in ITI are paid stipend @ Rs 40
/- per month.Candidates belonging to reserved category are eligible for
stipend @ Rs 60 /- per month. Out
of this Rs. 60/-, Rs 20/- per month is contributed by
the social welfare department .
The Director of Vocational Education and Training
conducts the All India Trade Test and award provisional certificates to
the successful candidates. The final certificates are awarded by the
Directorate General of Employment and Training, New Delhi.
