3- Indian-American 'Richard Rahul Verma' is nominated by Barack Obama to be the next US Ambassador to India.

4- McKinsey India Chairman 'Adil Zainulbhai' has been appointed as the Chairman of Quality Council of India (QCI) for a 3-year term.

5- Kaushik Basu is going to be the second Indian after Amartya Sen to head (president) the International Economic Association (IEA).

■  He is presently the Senior Vice-President and Chief Economist of the World Bank.

■  IEA is international federation of national economic associations which seeks to promote bonding among economists across the world through the organization of research programs, publications and scientific meetings.

6- Le Yucheng to take over as the new Chinese ambassador to India. He succeeds He Wei Wei.
