CBSE CTET Feb 2014 Details, Application Form, Exam Pattern
CENTRAL Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be conducting Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for those willing to become eligible for appointment as a teacher for Classes I to VIII on February 16.2014. A notification to thiseffect has been issued recently.
As per the notification published by CBSE recently, the CTET will be conducted on February 16.2014. The results for the same will be declared on March 21. 2014. The candidates may apply only on-line for CTET-FEB 2014 on CBSE/CTET website. The CTET shall apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS. NVS. Tibetan Schools, etc) and schools under the administrative control of Union Territories of Chandigarh. Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Daman and Diu and Dadra Nagar Haveli and National Capital Territory of Delhi.
CBSE has made it clear that 'Confirmation Page' received after last date of submission, that is. November 7. will not be accepted irrespective of the date of dispatch. CBSE will not be responsible for any postal delavs/transit loss, it has added.
This time. Paper-I will be held between 2 pm and 4.30 pm on the examination date while Paper-II between 9.30 am and 12 noon. That is. Paper-II will be held in morning session while Paper-I in the evening session.
CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET. Schoolsowned and managed by the State Government/local bodies and aided schools shall consider the TET conducted by the State Government. However, a State Government can also consider CTET if it decides not to conduct the State TET. CBSE has made it clear thai qualifying the CTET would not confer a right on any person for recruitment/employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.
In accordance with the provisions of Right to Education (RTE) Act. National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) had laid down minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for Classes I to VIII. One of the essential qualifications to become eligible for appointment as a teacher was that he/she should pass Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). which is conducted by CBSE.
The rationale behind making TET as one of the essential qualifications was 10 bring national standards and benchmark of teacher quality in the recruitment process, to induce teacher education institutions and students from these institutions to further improve their performance standards, and to send a positive signal to all stakeholders that the Government laid special emphasis on teacher quality.
PATTERN OF CTET Feb 2013
THE CTET will be of objective type Multiple Choice Question. There will be no negative marking. There will be two papers of CTFT Paper-I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes I to V. Paper-Il will be for a person who intends to be a teacher lor Classes VI to VIII. A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (Classes I to V and VI to VIII) will have to appear in Paper-I and Paper-II both. Important Dates of CTET 2014 DATES TO REMEMBER
• Last dale for online submission of application: October 31
• Lasl dale for receipt of Confirmation Page in CBSE: November 7
• Seven-day grace period up to November 15 for receipt of Confirmation Page will be allowed to the candidates belonging to remote areas
• Check application status and candidate particulars; December 18
• Application not received cases (contact CBSE) or on-line correction in particulars: December 20. 2013 to January 3, 2014
• Download admit card from CBSE's website - January 9, 2014
• Date of examination: February 16, 2014
• Declaration of results: March 21, 2014
