The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (CSIR-SERC), Chennai, is a premier National Laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. The major areas of R & D thrust of the Centre include Structural Concrete Engineering & Technology, Sustainable Materials and Composites, Retrofitting/rehabilitation of Structures, Computational Structural Mechanics for Analysis and Design & Software Development, Transmission Line Towers, Metal Structure Behaviour & Fatigue and Fracture, Structural Health Monitoring and Evaluation & Forensic Analysis and Wind Engineering and Earthquake Engineering. The Centre has built up excellent facilities for testing of structures and structural models, and also for mathematical modeling and simulation.
The Centre invites applications from highly qualified and motivated candidates for taking up R&D activities and also for providing engineering services to solve the problems of the industry and the society besides participating in the development of laboratory facilities.
